Weekly Update for June 12, 2026

The Data

  • 18 detentions reported to the hotline June 5-June 11

  • Counties where detentions occurred:  Clatsop, Marion, Jackson, Josephine, Multnomah

  • 27 total verified detentions reported to PIRC in June 2026

What does “verified detention” mean?

PIRC sometimes receives reports of detentions without names; we typically do not include these in our data. Not having a name makes it hard to ensure we are not duplicating reports.

As detentions rise around the state, so do the rumors, and that can cause a lot of panic and stress.

Help us share real time realities instead of rumors!

  • If you think you see ICE, to call the PIRC hotline; dispatchers are trained to help identify what you are seeing, and activate rapid response if needed.

  • If you are *not* an eye witness and someone tells you they saw ICE, encourage them to call! Eyewitness reports are the best tool we have in verifying whether ICE is present.

  • If you see a social media post or group chat about ICE but don’t know where the information came from, or shows the detention of someone you don’t know, consider encouraging people to not spread it further until verified by a credible source.

  • If we are noticing ICE activity that indicates a pattern or change in tactics, we send updates to the “Informacion Sobre Inmigracion en Oregon” channel in WhatsApp, found in the link in our bio.
