Weekly Update for March 12, 2026
The Data
2 confirmed detentions reported to the PIRC hotline 3/1-3/10
1 of the people who was detained was released the same day thanks to the quick work of folks across the Lane County Rapid Response Network (see next slide)!
We have received an additional ~5 reports of people detained, but have not yet received biographical information of these individuals.
Please continue to encourage people you know to call the hotline if a loved one disappears!. And if someone you know has a check in at an ICE field office, encourage them to check in with Legal Observers on site before going inside; it is very challenging to activate legal rapid response if we do not have biographical information!
PIRC Friends of the Week - Rapid Response Lane County
Rapid Response Lane County network is made up of lawyers, legal observers, and community volunteers supporting their neighbors. They provide a regular presence outside the Eugene ICE field office and organize rapid response efforts across the Lane County area.
This teamwork paid off yesterday when they were able to secure the release of someone detained at their local field office, who was transported to and then released from Macadam and welcomed at the PRC to be transported home. We are so grateful to work in community with partners like these!
