What We Do
Empowering immigrants, uniting families, and building a just community in Portland and beyond.

Know Your Rights, Protect Your Future
At PIRC, we respond flexibly and quickly to the needs of communities facing detention and deportation through our statewide hotline. We train allied communities to support their neighbors. We show up each day to hold immigration agents accountable. And we are building an immigrant-justice community across the state of Oregon.

Since July of 2025, PIRC has:
Taken more than 20,000 calls from people reporting ICE presence, seeking support, or needing help in the wake of a detention.
Referred nearly 1,000 detained community members from across the state to rapid response legal support and hundreds of community members to social services, including mutual aid & direct accompaniment.
Held a daily presence at the ZPortland Immigration Court & Portland ICE building to provide legal observation, support, and rapid response activation.
Trained more than 5,000 rapid response Migra Watcherse from all across the state & activated Migra Watchers to respond to hundreds of incidents of suspected and confirmed ICE activity.
Opened & operated on immigrant resource center to support hundreds of community members seeking support around ICE check-ins, as well as families seeking information about detained loved ones.
